brake servos

Post by dill »

Help please lads!
I am getting ready to put my 16v bits from my written off car into my new gl.
The servo and master cylinder have leaked what little fluid was left in over time and it's stripped the paint off the servo which has now started to rust. As im very ocd, everything is getting cleaned, painted etc befor it goes on the car.
The servo on the gl is in good condition so I was thinking of using that if possible? The plan was to stick the master cylinder on that if it will fit.
I've checked the part number on top of the servos, the 16v one is 205 v-2 and the gl one is 205 v-3. Obviously there is a difference between them but does anyone know what that is and if I can swap the master cylinder onto the gl one?

Cheers!

Can swap them as long as the bolts are in the same place.
The piston should line up.
Check it carefully.

It's not that common to do it. But I'm fairly sure it should swap over without issue.

Thanks mate. I think i'll get the 16v servo painted and see if it looks ok.
If the gl one looks better i'll try it but if it doesn't fit the 16v one will be going on.
