Did the clutch release bearing go ?

Nay, the release bearing spring snapped!

So what happened?

Tuesday, leaving work to come home, and my clutch pedal feels weird and really stiff, and i cannot select gear! so i get out and in the end, adjusted the clutch cable which made the pedal REALLY stiff but i could now change gear. Drove it home no issues.

Get in next morning, 'twang'. WTF! pedal SANK to the floor, i had no clutch!

So, got it down dads garage and ripped the gearbox off, the Release bearing spring had snapped

Got a new one from Honda (3.22 inc VAT - Trade), had to wait 2 days for overnight parts from belgium!

I also had the clutch replaced for FREE, as i claimed it as a warrenty repair, as i didnt want to chance that the pressure plate had failed (even though it looked fine)

So, rebuilt the release bearing fork with the new spring and set about getting WUB back together!

Bear in mind, this is THE first time i have ever done this by myself. Struggled to get the box on but got there in the end. Got the shafts on, Castle nuts with new split pins and set about plugging in the Reverse light and tempreture switch wires...........

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!

Had trapped them inside the bell housing between the engine and block! i undid all the nuts 15mm to split it without ripping it all apart, but it just wasnt coming out. in the end, i undid EVERYTHING and discovered i had trapped a rather large bracket inside which is why it was coming out easy.

But got there in the end

Good work mate

Changing clutches is a PITA, took me ages to get my gearbox back after doing mine the first time lots of wiggling it around and the getting annoyed and whacking it with a rubber malet
