I'm Jake, I'm based in the midlands and I'm still fairly new to the Civic game, and even newer again to the 4g game.
I currently have two cars ('91 998 mini and '98 MB2 Civic), and have now picked up a third ('90 EF Auto Saloon) after winning it on ebay (risky gamble). Previously owned by an elderly lady for something like 10 years. Needs a bit of TLC and modifying I think, currently has a twin cam d14 with auto box.
Does anyone know what the differences are between the D14A1 (fitted to the EF) and the D14A4 (Fitted to my MB)?
Obviously the A4 is fuel injected and the A1 is carbs, but other than that is there any difference?
My thinking is that in the future I may be interested in swapping to a manual box and the later A4 engines and boxes are cheaper and easier to find than earlier ones.
